Alliance Coastal Education LLC is proud to announce its partnership with CEUfast to offer a comprehensive Florida LPN IV Certification program. The program combines a series of online courses developed by CEUfast with hands-on skills practice facilitated by Alliance Coastal Education LLC.

The course lineup meets the 24-hour online portion of the LPN IV Series continuing education requirement, complemented by an additional 6 hours of hands-on skills practice. This combination ensures students fulfill the 30-hour requirement for Florida LPN IV Certification.

IV Therapy, or the “Administration of Intravenous Therapy,” refers to the therapeutic infusion and/or injection of substances via the venous peripheral system. It encompasses various activities, including observing, initiating, monitoring, discontinuing, maintaining, regulating, adjusting, documenting, planning, intervening, and evaluating.

The Florida LPN IV Certification requirements, as outlined in the Florida Administrative Code & Florida Administrative Register Rule 64B9-12.005, state that a Licensed Practical Nurse, given appropriate education and training, can perform intravenous therapy via central lines under the direction of a registered professional nurse. The requisite education and training demand a minimum of four hours of instruction, included within the overall 30-hour IV therapy education requirement.

The LPN IV Series by CEUfast includes 8 online courses totaling 24 hours of online continuing education:

  1. LPN IV Series: Administration Methods – 2.00 Contact Hours
  2. LPN IV Series: Blood and Blood Products Transfusion – 2.00 Contact Hours
  3. LPN IV Series: Central Venous Catheters and Arterial Catheters – 4.00 Contact Hours
  4. LPN IV Series: Homeostasis and Regulatory Functions Relationship to IV Therapy – 2.00 Contact Hours
  5. LPN IV Series: IV Pharmacology – 5.00 Contact Hours
  6. LPN IV Series: Legalities, Infection Control, Safe Injection, and Documentation – 3.00 Contact Hours
  7. LPN IV Series: Parenteral Nutrition – 2.00 Contact Hours
  8. LPN IV Series: Venipuncture and Maintenance – 4.00 Contact Hours

These 24 online contact hours, combined with the 6-hour hands-on curriculum, satisfy the Florida LPN IV education requirement. Additionally, all certificate hours earned for the State of Florida are electronically reported directly to CEBroker as part of the program package.
